HOBOKEN — Bars can sometimes turn into impromptu group therapy sessions, but these are rarely overseen by actual psychotherapists. This, however, will be the case at a happy hour next week in Hoboken.

Talia Filippelli of Starr Psychotherapy is hosting “Let it Go” Happy Hour at Teak on the Hudson on Monday, an event to help thirty-somethings address stress, anxiety, low self-esteem and other mental health issues. The event will feature games, drink specials, networking and guest speakers, such as life coach Jennifer Daure of Timeless Living.

The aim of the event is to help adults experience therapy in a positive setting.

“I want people to see that therapy isn’t scary,” Filippelli said in a statement. “I want this happy hour to show people how they can feel comfortable talking about the issues in their lives.”

The happy hour kicks off Filippelli’s new program, Therapy in Your 30s. The event is free and open to the public. It starts at 7 p.m. at 16 Hudson Place in Hoboken. To RSVP visit the event’s website.
