A Little About Me
Very rarely in life are we given the opportunity and the space to truly look at ourselves, where we have been, and the person we are looking to become. My goal is to help you gain the insights and awareness to find solutions to whichever problems may come your way. I offer empathy, compassion, and support with a focus on creating a warm, safe and welcoming environment where you can be heard and understood without judgement.
After graduating from New York University’s Silver School of Social Work, I went on to work in the private practice setting treating kids, “tweens,” teenagers and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, eating disorders and ADHD/executive functioning challenges. I have worked with diverse populations specializing in developmental and relational concerns common to children and teens and assisting parents in finding strategies to help their children effectively cope with daily stressors.
I believe evidence based practices yield the best results, therefore I utilize strengths based, results driven and time limited interventions like cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy to help you explore the connection between your thought patterns, feelings and behaviors. Additionally, I teach relaxation and mindfulness techniques as I believe calming the mind is the first step in finding more helpful ways of thinking about stressful situations. Together, we will explore effective tools and skills for managing distress. We will work hard to help you meet your goals and break down any barriers which stand in the way.
